About America: Unmuted
The full story. Unmuted.
Who we are
America: Unmuted covers what the right is talking about today: the stories driving the conservative shows and outlets, the moments worth hearing, and our take on them. We also publish fast video recaps of the big shows on our YouTube channel.
How stories are chosen
We follow the conservative shows we recap and the major right-leaning news outlets around the clock. A story makes the site when several of them are talking about it, when it is moving fast, or when one of the shows said something worth hearing in full.
How stories are written
Our stories are drafted with the help of AI from the transcripts and articles we collected for that story, and are checked automatically against our rules before they go up. Editors review what is published and correct or remove it when it falls short. The rules:
- Every claim is someone's claim. We say who said it and link to where they said it. We do not state an allegation as proven fact in our own voice.
- Quotes are verbatim, from a transcript or article we actually read, with a timestamp link for video.
- Every link is a real source we read for the story. No invented names, numbers, quotes or links.
- Public figures only. We do not name private individuals.
- Short quotes, always linked. We react to and quote other outlets' reporting briefly; read the original at the link.
What the labels mean
- Report: what happened and who said what, attributed and linked.
- Commentary: our opinion about policies and public figures. Sharp, clearly labelled, still sourced.
- Breaking and Developing: a story that is moving fast. Details may change and we update the story when they do.
The byline
Stories carry a single house byline, America: Unmuted Desk, because they are produced by the desk as a whole under the rules above.
Corrections
If we got something wrong, email admin@americaunmutedhq.com with the link and what is wrong. When we correct a story we say so in a note at the top of it. Stories that cannot be fixed are removed.
