“The security guard that's employed by Citibank stopped the threat”
Law enforcement officials praised the guard's swift response as approximately 3,200 employees were working at the Brandon location at the time, the Washington Examiner reported. Chief Deputy Losat noted that the gunman was transported to a local hospital where he later died, while four other individuals were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to Fox News. Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister described the shooting as a targeted incident, Breitbart reported.
“Was there a potential for further violence? Absolutely.”
More than 300 law enforcement personnel rushed to the scene within minutes to secure the four-building facility, the Washington Examiner detailed. While investigators continue working to determine a motive, the decisive intervention of an armed protector halted additional violence on the massive corporate property, Fox News indicated.
