President Donald Trump has firmly ruled out any possibility of mass amnesty following the midterm elections, The Daily Caller reported. Speaking during Fox News election night coverage, Trump explained that his presidential veto power ensures the incoming Democratic majority cannot enact immigration policies without his approval. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin separately announced that deportation operations will continue without interruption, according to The Post Millennial.
“They can send over 50 different great bills that they’re all excited about and I send them back with a nice stamp veto and, you know, there’s not a thing they can do about that.”
A White House official confirmed to The Daily Caller that mass amnesty is off the table despite bipartisan interest in addressing immigration. Trump noted in his interview that he remains willing to collaborate with lawmakers on practical solutions, The Daily Caller stated.
“The Administration will never allow for mass amnesty.”
Democrats have previously sought to curtail federal enforcement, with the Democratic National Committee approving resolutions to abolish ICE and halt detention contracts, The Daily Caller reported from a Newsweek account. Vice President JD Vance emphasized in a post on X that establishment figures promoting amnesty are misleading voters about midterm outcomes, The Daily Caller added.
Meanwhile, border enforcement agencies maintain ironclad funding through September 30, 2029, under the multi-year Secure America Act passed earlier this year, The Post Millennial reported. The approximately $70 billion legislative package guarantees that federal agents have resources to carry out their deportation missions, according to the publication. In addition, recent polling from CBS and NBC News demonstrated widespread public support for federal deportation efforts and a clear voter preference for Republican border management, The Post Millennial noted.
